Attendees

Q: Is this a kid-friendly event? Can I bring a child under the age of 18? Do you have to be 21 to attend brewery events?

A: Fridays and Saturdays are *Content Warning* days, meaning they are more catered to adults. On these days, there will be more gore, more intense shows, and explicit vendor booths. We encourage parents to consider this when choosing to bring their children on these days, but we do not ID at the door (only upon the purchase of alcohol or for any 18+ activities). Sundays, however, are family-friendly days, meaning less spooks, more appropriate booths, and different games/activities (such as trick-or-treating and Mini Monster costume contests).

Q: Can I bring my dog/pet?

A: While some of these venues may be pet-friendly on a normal day, HauntFest events are not pet-friendly events. We provide live animal encounters, scary characters, and loud noises! Our very hungry ghouls would be glad to munch on the bones of your dog or cat, so just don't bring them.

Q: What do I wear?

A: Dressing in costume or in spooky attire is highly encouraged and will definitely add to the atmosphere of the event. This will grant you the opportunity to join our Costume Contests! You can also pick up some HauntFest merch at the event if you'd like to spread the spookiness that way!

Q: How can I identify which monsters are customers and which are event staff?

A: We will be giving everyone a different color wristband to identify general staff, scare actors, vendors, musicians, and customers. These charts will be posted at the ticket booth upon entry.

Q: Will there be a vendor map?

A: Yes! You can find our vendor maps on the website under the specific event page when they become available. Others will be posted at the event itself.

Event Staff

Q: What do I wear?

A: We will not require our event staff to dress a certain way, but fitting the theme is encouraged!! Dressing in costume or in spooky attire will definitely add to the atmosphere of the event. If you have a HauntFest t-shirt, that works too.

Q: How can I identify other staff?

A: We will be giving everyone a different color wristband to identify general staff, scare actors, vendors, musicians, and customers.

Q: What if I am not happy with my staff schedule or assignments?

A: Just reach out to us! Please do so ASAP so we can make edits and give others ample time to approve of their own schedules if it affects others.

Q: What about bathroom and snack breaks?

A: Just make sure someone else covers your spot while you’re gone! Let no position go unmanned.

Q: What do I do if there is a conflict?

A: If there is a serious issue that is or could become dangerous, find help immediately! This means exiting the area or finding another staff member to assist. Please refer to the security staff. If you feel trapped at your station, please reach out to me the quickest way possible. My number is (706) 961 - 5144. In case of emergency, call 911.

Q: If I want to help with setup, when can/should I come?

A: Set up dates will be shared over email and the staff Facebook groups. There will be a lot to do, so we can use as much help as we can get! We will definitely need help the week prior to the event.

Q: If I want to help take down, how will that work?

A: We will likely begin taking down immediately after the festival on Sunday, as well as whatever days are allowed by the venue after the event. We will also need help with cleanup for the first two nights if you are willing. Please let us know if you would like to assist with any of this!

Q: I am a scare actor - when and where can I get ready?

A: Please arrive during vendor load-in hours to get in costume and makeup/mask if you aren’t already dressed. There are bathrooms at the venue if you need to use them, and any other Staff rooms will be labeled. If you know you will not have time to get ready and be at your station by your scheduled time, please reach out to us.If you are arriving after doors open, please try to arrive in costume and makeup/mask so we don’t clog up the bathrooms! If this is not possible, try to find a mirror outside of the bathrooms to do makeup so we don’t cause any bathroom traffic issues.
